Finding skin care products that use quality, non-toxic ingredients, are effective, and work for your skin type can be a challenging process. They can also end up being pretty pricey.

That’s why I love this 2-ingredient DIY soothing face cleanser. It’s super easy, it removes dirt and makeup (even eye makeup!), and it soothes, moisturizes, and calms skin. So, it’s great for all skin types, especially skin that is irritated or inflamed.

This cleanser combines moisturizing jojoba oil with pure lavender essential oil. Jojoba oil is a close match for the skin’s natural sebum, and it doesn’t clog pores.

essential-oil lavenderPure, therapeutic grade lavender essential oil is known for its calming and soothing properties. It’s anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and antifungal. It also combats excess sebum on the skin.

The French scientist René Gattefossé was the first to discover lavender’s ability to promote tissue regeneration and speed wound healing when he severely burned his arm in a laboratory explosion.

An added benefit is that just by inhaling the lavender oil, it can promote a relaxed and calm mind.

Instructions:

  1. Place 2 drops jojoba oil and 1 drop lavender essential oil into palm of your hand and rub together.
  2. Apply in circular motion on damp skin.
  3. Rinse off with warm water. (I like to leave it on my skin for a few minutes and then rinse off)

Bonus: You can also you this as a face and body moisturizer and a soothing hair and scalp mask!
